The Radio Broadcasting Certificate Program offers students an introduction to the world of mass media, while they gain the hands-on experience and practical job skills needed for employment. Students gain skills in announcing, scriptwriting, news writing, and audio production. The Program includes an internship at a local radio station.
This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Radio industry; planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues.
The coursework for the Radio and Television Broadcasting Certificate is comprised of 35 credit hours and can be completed in 2 semesters. After completing the Certificate, students can continue their college studies or seek employment in the field of Radio Broadcasting.
Admission Requirements:
1. Completed application to Clarendon College
2. Submit all official high school and/or college transcripts or GED certificate
3. Pre-entry testing is NOT required.
