Agriculture

Welcome to the Clarendon College Department of Agriculture.

My name is Marilyn Brandt and I am one of the instructors in the Department of Agriculture.   I grew up in northern Illinois and went to Black Hawk College where I competed on the equestrian and horse judging teams and had a very successful junior college career.   I continued my education at West Texas A&M University where I completed a B.S. in Equine Industry and Business and a M.S. in Animal Science.  At WT I was a member of the horse judging team, equestrian team and ranch horse team.  While completing my Masters’ degree I also served as the Operations Manager for the University Equine Center.

At Clarendon College I team several agriculture classes as well as coaching the horse judging team.  In my spare time you can find me at the Clarendon College arena with my horse or hiking with my dogs.

Classes I teach:

Food Science

Equine Care and Management

Principles of Horticulture

Marketing of Agricultural Products

Agricultural Economics

Equine Evaluation
