Coach Leggett takes over the Clarendon College Cross Country program going into the 2012 season. He looks to elevate the CC squad to national prominence. He will take his successful background in cross country running as an athlete and a coach to motivate the student athletes to achieve more as a student athlete at Clarendon College.
Zach has a great history in the sport of Cross Country starting in high school. He was a two time 6AAA Cross Country Champ. Next he excelled at McMurry University as part of the 1999 and 2000 American Southwest Conference Team. In addition to that, he set the school record for the 3000m outdoor. He has been inducted into the McMurry University Hall of Honor as a part of the 1999 track team for his contribution that set the foundation for 13 consecutive ASC Conference Championships.
While an Assistant Coach at McMurry Zach's team won the 2012 American Southwest Conference Championship and won the NCAA National Outdoor Championship. This was the second year the track team earned National honors, the first being in 2008. Runners under the direction of Coach Leggett have set many personal and school records.
He has earned a BBA from Texas Tech University in Finance and a M.Ed. degree in Kinesiology form Hardin Simmons University.
