2332 – World Literature I

Prerequisite: English 1302 Course description: A study of the
masterpieces of Western World Literature from the Ancient Greeks through the
Renaissance. This course partially satisfies the requirements for the
Associate degree at Course
objectives: ·
explore and discuss the
literature from the Classics through the Renaissance ·
develop critical thinking
skills by writing three essay tests ·
an analytical paper. ·
apply the different eras of
literature to modern life ·
demonstrate an understanding
of literature as an expression of individual and human values ·
construct written analyses of
literary works based on research about and selection of appropriate themes of
literary criticism ·
read literature and write a
critical analysis of it ·
articulate through written
and oral assignments an appreciation of diversity This class is taught on the main campus.
