Course Description: A study of the principles of effective writing through analysis of sentence structure, paragraph organization, and theme development.  Includes analysis of model paragraphs and essays, essay writing, assigned library reading, and individual conferences.

 

General Course Objectives: Students will understand and be able to demonstrate the following:

·         the writing process

·         the ability to write for an audience as specified

·         the ability to use different modes of expression in writing

·         the ability to write analytical paragraphs or essays over reading assignments

·         the ability to discuss reading assignments

·         the ability to use writing and analytical skills across the curriculum
