What is "Directory Information"?

Directory information can be given out to third parties without the student’s written consent.  In compliance with the Texas Open Records Act and the Buckley amendment (Public Law 93-579), Clarendon College will consider the following information to be “public or directory information” unless the individual student advises the Registrar in writing that his/her name should not be included or released as public information: Student name, date and place of birth, home address, home telephone, e-mail address, marital status, classification, dates of attendance, major and minor, current class schedule, degrees and awards received, number of hours enrolled for current semester, photographs, previous education agencies/institutions attended, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weights and heights of members of athletic teams, and the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student. Students desiring to review their records may do so through a request to the Registrar.
