Lady Bulldogs Dominate the Old Dawgs—Again!

Once again, the Lady Bulldogs ran circles around the Old Dawgs in their annual showdown. Though the score may have favored youth, the Old Dawgs certainly had their shining moments on the court.

A big thank-you goes out to everyone who made this fun tradition possible.

First, to the coaches who laced up and joined in—your participation made the game happen.

Next, to our faculty and staff players, who proved that heart and humor go a long way, even when the stamina doesn’t. As one participant joked, “My daughter was surprised I lasted more than 30 seconds!”

A special thanks to Coach James and the Lady Bulldogs for bringing great energy and sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see so many of the team members smiling and laughing—such a contrast to their usual game-day intensity.

Gratitude also goes to Coach Cochran for officiating with fairness (and a few merciful breaks for the Old Dawgs!), Coach Marmolejo for keeping score, and Momma James for handling concessions.

Dr. Paul managed the donations and had even planned a brief halftime show—though halftime seemed to fly by this year!

The student turnout was fantastic, and their enthusiasm added to the lively atmosphere throughout the event.

One of the highlights came when Martha, who was in attendance, shared that her chemo treatments had officially ended that day—a beautiful reminder of what this game is all about.

Thankfully, the game ended with no major injuries—just one skinned knee, which has become something of a tradition. After all, it wouldn’t be a true Old Dawgs vs. Lady Bulldogs classic without a little blood on the floor!

In total, the event raised $304 for the College Cancer Fund—a win for everyone.

Well done, Bulldogs! See you next year for Old Dawgs vs. Lady Bulldogs V!
