Getting Your VA Education Benefits Started
Step 1: Apply to Clarendon College OR www.applytexas.org
Contact our Testing Department to determine requirements for your degree/program.
See Advisor and get registered (All courses must be required for your program.)
Step 2: Apply for VA Benefits or Hazlewood Act Benefits
To request your VA education benefits, you must first determine your chapter:
- Montgomery GI Bill- Active Duty: Chapter 30
- Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP): Chapter 32
- Post 9-11 GI Bill: Chapter 33
- Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA): Chapter 35
- Montgomery GI Bill- Selected Reserve: Chapter 1606
- Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)- Chapter 1607 (www.military.com)

The Department of Veteran Affairs also requires that all College, High School/GED and Military Transcripts along with DD-214’s
are added to your VA file with the certifying official. (Benefits will
not be certified without them).
